Imagine...

. . . if we could reach just three out of every 100 people living in the 30 largest cities in the world with the hope of Jesus. We could add to the citizenship of heaven more than the current world membership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (which has taken 140 years to grow). And that’s only 30 cities. There are more than 400 cities in the world with a population of more than a million people. By some estimates, within five years more than half the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Will we be there to introduce them to Jesus?

The 2005 GC offering—HOPE FOR BIG CITIES—will provide seed money for world divisions to focus on long-term plans to establish and nurture new churches in major cities. Imagine healthy, vibrant Adventist congregations growing in the heart of the worlds largest cities.

Reaching the population of a large city presents more financial and spiritual challenges than almost any other missionary frontier. It’s an opportunity for our church to exercise its faith in a God who has promised to make all things possible. The cities are where His children are, and that means it’s where He wants us to go. The miracles are waiting.
